PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A new ordinance could have residents paying the price for false alarm calls.
Effective immediately, if officers respond to too many calls at your home or business in Putnam County you could be getting a bill.
Officials say, just in the last year, they responded to more than 700 false alarm calls. So the county says if you have three or more false alarms within a year that third offense will cost you $50.
A fourth would cost $100, and it keeps going up from there.
