ORIGINAL STORY 2/8/19
The families of two Cabell County teens are asking for help from anyone to help bring them both home.
Danny Fulks, 16, of Huntington and a junior at Huntington High School, was reported missing on Monday and is believed to be with 16-year-old Alexis Basenback, a student at Spring Valley High School. Basenback was reported missing on Monday by the Huntington Police Department.
Laura Fulks, the mother of Danny, spoke with WV MetroNews on Thursday and said they are urging anyone that can to help.
“We’ve had some leads but nothing has panned out,” she said. “We are trying to get the word out for everybody to be on the lookout for that car and to be looking for these kids.”
That car is a red 2001 Ford F-150 XLT with an extended cab and a license plate of WV-6ML794. Danny Fulks is believed to be driving that vehicle with Basenback as a passenger. Laura Fulks said that they have had trouble seeing where the two might have gone with it because Basenback left her phone at home and her son’s phone is turned off.
“We just want our kids back,” she said. “They are good kids and we have no idea why they left. We are obviously worried about their safety. They could be headed up north, south, east, or west, they could be in the woods or in the city. We don’t have any idea.”
Danny Fulks is 6 foot, one inch tall and approximately weighs 150 pounds. He has light brown hair and blue eyes and wears eyeglasses. According to the Huntington Police Department report, he went missing at about 5:00 a.m. on Monday.
“He is a good kid, good student,” his mother said. “He was never in trouble before. Pretty quiet kid, completely uncharacteristic. We had no idea anything like this would be coming. No big fight, no big blowup with him over the weekend. nothing like that happened at all.”
Fulks said they knew of no relationship between the two missing other than they followed each other on Instagram. Basenback is 5 foot, four inches tall, weighs approximately 110 pounds with long dark hair.
She added that the two may or may not still have the truck, but said they are begging anyone with information about her son and Basenback to contact the Huntington Police Department at 304 696-4470 or call 911.
