A single-vehicle crash killed a teenager and injured six others early Friday morning in Athens County.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say it happened just after 2 a.m. on U.S. 33 west of Johnson Road. Investigators believe the SUV driver was heading northwest when the vehicle went off the left side of the road, hit the median, and rolled. Investigators have not released a suspected cause of the crash, but identified the victims later Friday morning:

Mckale Marie Losey, 19, of Glouster, and John Douglas Fitch, 23, of Columbus, were flown to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries.

Cassandra Lynn Carl, 18, of Salem, and Lila I. Mortenson, 17, of Nelsonville, were taken to O'Bleness Hospital and then later flown to Grant Medical Center.

Joshua M. Hughes, 19, of Springfield, was the driver, according to troopers. He and Elden Demond Burnside, 20, of Wooster, were taken to O'Bleness Hospital where they were treated and released.
