MacCorkle Ave. SW has reopened following a fire at a vacant apartment building Saturday morning in Jefferson, West Virginia.

UPDATE 9/28/19 @ 9:48 a.m.

Fire crews have extinguished a fire in Jefferson, West Virginia. MacCorkle Ave. SW remains closed at this time as officials investigate the fire.

No one was injured in the apartment building fire Saturday morning, Jefferson fire officials said.

The apartment building on was vacant, Jefferson fire officials said. The building has six units and three were on fire.

ORIGINAL STORY

A large apartment building fire in Jefferson, West Virginia has closed MacCorkle Ave. SW in both directions, Metro 911 said.

Three fire department are on scene fighting the flames at the four unit apartment building near American Freight, dispatchers said.

Smoke was first reported coming from the second floor at 7:42 Saturday morning.
