CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Employees scrambled to save important documents when their office caught on fire Tuesday afternoon.

Fire crews from three different departments responded to a fire at Pressley Ridge at Grant Gardens in Ona shortly before noon.

A firefighter with the Ona VFD tells WSAZ that a heating unit fire in one of the office trailers caught fire.

Two employees called 911 and then tried to put the fire out with extinguishers.

When firefighters arrived they said fire was shooting through the roof of the trailer. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get the fire under control.

Matt McBride says he was outside when a another staff member came outside and started yelling the building was on fire. The two then grabbed some important papers before running to safety.

"It was scary, a lot of smoke, I'd never been in a burning building before so it was pretty scary but I didn't feel like we were in too much of a danger or I wouldn't have gone inside and risked losing my life but it was scary," said McBride.

The office that caught fire works with foster children.

The Ona, Miton and Culloden Fire Departments responded to the fire.
