Firefighters pull unconscious woman out of burning home

Firefighters pulled an unconscious woman from a burning home in Barboursville early Sunday morning.

It happened at a home along Martha Road.

Firefighters were responding to the fire when they found a woman believed to be in her 60s, unconscious in the bathroom of the burning home.

Firefighters say she while she was trapped in the bathroom, she called 911 and spoke to dispatchers until she lost consciousness.

Two Barboursville Firefighters, Ian Hockenberry and his uncle Robby Ashworth, pulled the woman to safety.

She was taken to the hospital to be treated for burn injuries and smoke inhalation. There's no word on her condition.

Crews from Ohio River Road, Green Valley and Milton Volunteer Fire Departments also responded.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
