GREENUP COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Greenup County health officials say their first case of COVID-19 has been confirmed.

Officials told WSAZ Wednesday the case is considered community spread from a patient in Boyd County.

The patient is a 27-years-old woman.

Greenup County Health Department Director Chris Crum says the patient was asymptomatic and is home-isolating.

"The risk to the public is high right now as this is our first case. We all need to practice social distancing and practice good hand hygiene," Crum said.
