PORTSMOUTH, W.Va. (WSAZ)-- Officials with the Ohio Department of Transportation say high waters has closed the Second Street Bridge in Portsmouth.
Officials say the bridge is closed at the State Route U.S. 52/Route 852 overpass leading to the Second Street Bridge.
On the west end, the bridge is shutdown at U.S. 52 and State Route 73/104.
They are encouraging drivers to detour by the way of U.S. 23 and State Route 239.
They say the bridge is expected to be closed the remainder of the week while water levels may rise with more rain and fall later in the week.
