SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 7/18/19 @ 4:10 p.m.
Community members said their final farewells Thursday to a former staple in South Charleston.

Bob Anderson passed away Saturday afternoon.

Family and friends said goodbye at a memorial service Thursday at Snodgrass Funeral Home.

In his 50 year of public service, Anderson was responsible for planning and organizing countless events and parades within the community.

A staple in the South Charleston community has died.

He's often remembered as saying every day should be Christmas.
