UPDATE: Crews quickly bring Charleston fire under control

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 2/8/19 @ 6:40 p.m.
Crews quickly managed to get a house fire under control Friday on Vine Street, and the people inside got out safely, our crew at the scene says.

Firefighters say there was fire showing from the top floor of the home when they arrived.

There wasn't much external damage visible.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

A neighbor told us crews got there very quickly and brought the fire under control.

Crews are attempting to put out a fully engulfed structure fire Friday evening on Vine Street in Charleston.

According to Metro 911, reports of the fire began to come in at 5:35 p.m. Friday.

Four fire engines and a ladder truck arrived at the scene, along with Charleston police officers and medic units.

There are no reports of injuries.

We have a crew headed to the scene.
