CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A prestigious award was given to the Cabell County Emergency Medical Services on Thursday.
The American Heart Association presented the Cabell County EMS with the “2016 Mission Lifeline Gold Award”. This is a nationally recognized award and Cabell is one of only two counties in the state of West Virginia to receive the award.
The award indicates the highest level of cooperation between Cabell County EMS and both St. Mary’s Medical Center and Cabell Huntington Hospital.
It also recognizes that the medical crews provide the highest care to the people in Cabell County when they are experiencing a heart attack of chest related pains.
Jeffrey Vallance, an EMT paramedic for the Cabell County EMS said, “The one thing that this award shows is that all of our crews go above and beyond to meet the standard and go above the standard for the county and for the residents of Cabell.”
The award was graciously accepted on behalf of all our dedicated crews that serve our community.
