UPDATE: Man who died in head-on crash was driving stolen vehicle

UPDATE 12/6/17 @ 11:10 a.m.

Deputies have released the name of a man who died after a head-on crash in Charleston.

Joseph Dustin, 20, of St. Albans, died in the crash early Tuesday morning in the 3100 block of Greenbrier St.

According to a release, the car Dustin was driving when the accident happened was reported stolen the day before to the Nitro Police Department.

Deputies say Dustin's car drove into the opposite lane, hitting a Jeep head-on.

The driver of the Jeep was removed from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital. The driver was able to give an interview to authorities at the hospital.

There were no passengers in the two vehicles.

The reason for the crash is unknown.

Deputies tell WSAZ a man has died after a head-on crash early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened in the 3100 block of Greenbrier St. shortly after 6 a.m.

The name of the person who died in the crash has not been released at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY 12/5/17

Two vehicles collided head-on shortly after 6 a.m. in the 3100 Block of Greenbrier Street in the Rutledge area.

Two occupants were trapped inside one of the vehicles. One person has been transported to the local hospital.

Greenbrier St. was closed for most of rush hour. It has been reopened.

The conditions of the occupants is unknown at this time.
