HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Healing Field is making its return to Huntington.

The Greater Huntington Park & Recreation District is holding the Healing Field at Spring Hill Cemetery from Sept. 6 through Sept. 13.

Thousands of American flags are placed at the cemetery to serve as a vigil to the thousands of victims who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as those who died in the 1970 Marshall football plane crash and Veterans of the Armed Forces.

The 5th Annual Memorial Bell Tower 5K will be held Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and the Marshall March of Remembrance will be on Sept. 11 at 5:30 p.m.

A new Plaza built around the World Trade Center Artifact Memorial will be unveiled in Spring Hill Cemetery during a ceremony after the March of Remembrance.

This will be the 7th Annual Healing Field held at Spring Hill Cemetery.
