House fire closes busy street in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An early morning fire at an abandoned house is causing issues for drivers in Charleston.

A portion of Patrick Street is closed between 4th and 6th Avenues while firefighters remain on the scene.

The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. Friday at a house in the 500 block of Patrick Street.

Firefighters say it was a small fire in the back of the house.

No one was hurt.
