Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial says the shooting that happened Tuesday evening in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue is considered an accident.
One man was taken to the hospital with an injury to the leg. His injuries are not life-threatening, according to Chief Dial.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. inside an apartment building.

Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial says that investigators are trying to figure out if a shooting along 6th Avenue was accidental.
According to Chief Dial, one person was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The other person who was in the apartment at the time of the incident is now being questioned by police.
The shooting was reported around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue. That location is not far from the Marshall University campus.

Police are on the scene of a shooting Tuesday evening in the 1400 block of 6th Avenue, our crew at the scene reports.

Sixth Avenue is closed at this time between 14th and 15th streets.
No other information is available now, including how badly the victim is hurt.
The shooting happened near a sorority house. Marshall University sent an alert to staff and students, saying there had been a shooting in that area.
