HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- From a parade, to plenty of music and good food the opportunities for fun to help celebrate America's birthday seemed endless in Hurricane on Tuesday.
Some people though, took the food part, to a whole new level.
It's all thanks to a hot dog eating contest sponsored by Sheetz.
Each contestant had five minutes to eat as many hot dogs as they could- bun included.
The winner, Ethan Teske, was able to consume 17.
That is an average of 3.4 per-minute.
Teske, according to Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards, came all the way to Hurricane from Nashville specifically for the contest.
Teske took home $500 cash and bragging rights.
Right behind Teske was Woody Lewis. He ate 14 hot dogs.
And Ron Clark took home the third place prize after eating 13.
