UPDATE: Autopsy results show Pike County woman died after being hit by car

Autopsy results show a woman who was found dead in a driveway in Pike County, Kentucky died after being hit by a car.

Kentucky State Police troopers say Michele Smith, 44, was found dead in the Johns Creek area on Sunday.

Troopers say the autopsy results came back, confirming she suffered trauma after being hit by a car.

Evidence they have recovered suggests the incident started as a burglary or robbery inside the house.

Troopers say no one has been arrested in the case. They are still following up on leads.

A body was found in the driveway of a home in the Johns Creek area of Pike County, according to Kentucky State Police.

Troopers said just after 9:30 a.m., they received a call about a person lying in the driveway. They later identified the deceased person as 44-year-old Michele Smith.

After a preliminary investigation, troopers said there was a possible robbery and an assault involving a motor vehicle.

Smith's body was taken for an autopsy.
