Man arrested after firing shots into gas station, near police officer

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) -- Lexington police have arrested a man after they say he randomly fired multiple shots at three different locations.
19-year-old Layne Chadwell was arrested Monday afternoon.
According to a police report, Chadwell entered a Speedway gas station on Paris Pike less than an hour earlier and fired multiple shots from a handgun, nearly hitting an employee.
Witnesses say Chadwell then got into his car and fired more shots while traveling on Paris Pike.
According to the police report, Chadwell fired shots a third time at a location on North Broadway within the vicinity of an on-duty police officer.
Chadwell is charged with one count of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer.
He's scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
