UPDATE | Man accused of killing Mingo County man arrested
A 19 year old accused of shooting and killing a man in Mingo County has been arrested in Columbus.
The Mingo County Sheriff's office says Kalyle Woods was arrested by the Columbus Police Department along with the U.S. Marshall's Service.
Woods has been wanted for the death of 37-year-old Roger Marcum II.
Marcum was found dead in a creek with multiple gunshot wounds on Goodman Hollow road.
Woods faces multiple charges including 1st degree murder.
Just days after 37-year-old Roger Marcum II was fatally shot and found dead in a creek in Mingo County, his family is reflecting on his life through photos and memories.
"I love my son dearly, he's the only son I had,” the victim’s mother Priscilla Marcum said.
His mother and sister describe him as a hard-working, caring and athletic son, brother and father who was well-loved in his hometown of Williamson.
His mother, who is in remission after battling cancer, says that he had taken a class to try to be her home health worker.
"He actually loved doing that sort of thing, helping others,” she said.
Just hours before he was killed on Friday, he was at his family home helping with some repairs.
"He was acting himself. He was acting like my brother. He was working on my dad's house putting shingles on it because there was a leak,” Marcum’s sister, Nancy Bowen said.
Hours later his mother got the heartbreaking news.
"It was really such a really a shock when the officers came and told me. I don’t know who could do something like this,” Priscilla Marcum said.
Investigators say 19-year-old Kalyle Woods who is from Columbus and known on the streets as “Fresh.”
"I don’t know who in their right mind would do this to my brother that has teenage kids that's not even going to see their dad ever again,” Bowen said.
As the family waits for answers, they're grateful that there are still good people in the world like Joe Miller who found Marcum and tried to help him.
"I just hope they catch him,” Miller said.
"I really do appreciate it so much. I know it won’t bring him back, but thank you so much for trying your best to help him,” Bowen said.
Deputies released the name of a murder suspect in Mingo County Tuesday.
Kalyle Woods, 19, of Columbus, is facing several charges. Woods also goes by the alias "Fresh."
According to the Mingo County Sheriff's Office, Woods is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Roger Marcum II. Investigators say Marcum II was shot multiple times and later found dead in a creek.
Woods is also charged with the attempted murder of Randall Bowen.
The shooting happened Friday in the Goodman Hollow area of Mingo County.
Investigators believe Woods left Mingo County.

Deputies are investigating a homicide that happened Friday on Goodman Hollow Road in Mingo County.
Deputies say Roger Marcum II, 37, of Williamson, was shot multiple times and later found dead in a creek by a man walking by.
WSAZ spoke to the man who found the victim, Joe Miller, who said he noticed unusual marks on the road and realized something was wrong.
"Out of the corner of my eye I saw him laying there. I immediately jumped over and straddled him, trying to roll him over hoping I could do CPR because I thought he had just passed out or fell," Miller said.
Miller continued, "When i straddled him, I saw a gunshot wound in his right arm and a gunshot wound in his right ribs."
Miller did not have his phone on him, but he ran up the street and called 911. He says this road is very quiet and is shocked something like this happened here.
"Everybody knows everybody in here. It has always been quiet," Miller said.
Deputies say they have not made any arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department or their local 911 agency.

Investigators say the shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday along Goodman Hollow Road. Deputies got a call after a neighbor heard gunshots. Another neighbor found Marcum's body in a creek.
