VINTON COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) – A man riding a motorcycle was hurt Thursday in a Vinton County crash that involved another car, the Ohio State Highway Patrol says.

The accident was reported around 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of state Route 93 and state Route 56.

Troopers say the motorcyclist, Douglas L. Barch, 51, of Waverly, Ohio, was airlifted to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus. His injuries are described as “incapacitating.”

Investigators say Barch failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a 2000 Buick Century. A woman from Michigan driving that car, along with her passenger, were not hurt.

State Route 93 was reduced to one lane for about two hours after the crash.

OSHP troopers with the Jackson Post were assisted at the scene by the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, Vinton County EMS, McArthur Fire Department and Vinton County ODOT.
