CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV MetroNews) -- One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Clarksburg Monday morning, WV MetroNews reports.
The incident happened around 10:17 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of Hamill Avenue in the North View section of Clarksburg.
According to Clarksburg Police Chief Robbie Hilliard, three Clarksburg Police officers were serving a domestic violence protective order when the victim pulled a gun on the officers. He was then shot by police.
North View was placed on a lockdown, but it has since been lifted.
The investigation has been handed over to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim’s identity is not released at this time.
