FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) -- If you are traveling Highway 1428 between mile points 11 and 12 from Sugar Loaf to the Goble Roberts bridge, officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet are asking you to use caution.
In a Facebook post, officials said a tree was holding back a large amount of mud and rock about 300 feet above the road. They were worried it could break at any time, causing a slide.
The road is currently clear, though at last check there is still a film of mud across the roadway. Crews were waiting for firefighters to wash off the pavement.
Transportation officials said they may return to the site later in the day if the hillside becomes unstable again.
