COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Ohio State has named a new basketball coach.
According to reports, the Buckeyes have chosen Butler's Chris Holtmann to lead the team in Columbus.
Holtmann will replace Thad Matta, the university's former head coach who was relieved of his duties earlier this week after 13 years with the team.
Holtmann has reportedly agreed to an 8-year, $24 million contract with the university.
He has lead the Butler Bulldogs for the last 3 seasons as head coach.
Holtmann has a 114-85 record during his college coaching career.
