UPDATE: Woman facing robbery, malicious wounding charges after shooting

UPDATE 4/28/17 @ 5:10 p.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman has been charged after a shooting.

Jessica Ross, 23, of Huntington, is charged with robbery and malicious wounding.

According to the criminal complaint, Ross shot a man after he refused to give her money.

The man then gave her $1,000 after Ross shot him in the leg.

The man was also beaten with a cane in the head by a juvenile who was with Ross.

Ross has been placed in Western Regional Jail on a $100,000 bond.


UPDATE 4/13/17 @ 6:45 a.m.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --Police are investigating an early morning shooting on the 900 block of Monroe Ave.

It happened just before 4 Thursday morning.

Dispatchers say the victim called 911 saying two women had tried to rob him and he had been shot.

The victim was taken to a Huntington hospital for treatment. He was alert as paramedics loaded him into an ambulance.

There's no word on any suspects in the case.

It happened about 4 Thursday morning in the 900 block of Monroe Ave.

The victim told Cabell County dispatchers two women had attempted a robbery. The victim was then shot in the leg.
