UPDATE | 2 arrested in Charleston shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 7/10/19 @ 9:15 p.m.
Two suspects in a shooting that injured a woman Wednesday morning in the 1300 block of Renaissance Circle were arraigned later that day.

One person was shot at Vista View Apartments on Renaissance Circle in Charleston early Wednesday morning. The suspect was taken into custody.

The shooting happened just after 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim, Quentia Ellis, was allegedly lured into an apartment by Cierra Jemison, 20, via a text message posing to be her husband, Kerry Jemison II, 27.

When Ellis came into the apartment, Cierra Jemison sprayed her with pepper spray, according to the complaint. As Ellis turned around to run, Kerry Jemison shot her in the back with a pistol, the complaint states.

Kerry ran from the scene, dumping the pistol in a trash chute before exiting the building. Police officers eventually found both Jemison and the pistol.

Ellis was taken to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.

Kerry and Cierra Jemison both were charged with malicious wounding. Kerry Jemison's bond is set at $10,000 cash only. Cierra Jemison's bond is set at $10,000 property or 10% cash.

Both were taken to the South Central Regional Jail.

A suspected shooter is in custody after a person was shot early Wednesday morning in Charleston.

The shooting happened at Vista View Apartments, in the 1300 block of Renaissance Circle a little after 1:15 Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers tell us the suspect was taken into custody.

The victim's condition is unknown.
