Woman accused of embezzling from Fayette County PTO

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Fayette County woman has been arrested on embezzlement allegations, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies stated the Fayette County Board of Education notified the Sheriff's Department about potential embezzlement being committed by a Parent Teacher Organization member.

Deputies discovered that Jessica R. Zukowski, 33, of Mount Hope, had used PTO funds to pay toward her personal home utility bill debt. Zukowski is the president of the Mount Hope Elementary PTO.

Zukowski has been charged with forgery and embezzlement.

She was released on a $7,500.00 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate's Office.

The incident remains under investigation.
