5-year-old hit by car in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 5-year-old girl was hit Friday morning by a car in Charleston, 911 dispatchers say.

Officials say the incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. at 688 South Park Road.

The child was taken to the hospital. Charleston Police say she's in stable but critical condition at CAMC.

Police say the driver was traveling south on South Park Road when the little girl ran out into the road.

Police say they don't expect any charges to be filed against the driver who has cooperated with the investigation.
