UPDATE | Victim identified Floyd County, Ky. accident

Kentucky State Police say that Eric Terry was hit and killed Tuesday night in Martin.

Terry, 34 of Conley Fork, was walking on the road and hit by a driver heading west on Kentucky Rt. 80 near the Garrett exit. According to KSP it is not clear why Terry was in the road.

Investigators are now waiting for the results of a toxicology test in this case.

The Floyd County Coroner, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and Lifeguard Ambulance also responded to the incident.


UPDATE 1/21/20 @ 11:25 p.m.

A person has died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle, Kentucky State Police say.

The accident happened shortly after 8 p.m. on state Route 80 at Garrett.

The Floyd County coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Other details are unavailable at this time.

Crews are on the scene Tuesday night of an accident involving a pedestrian, Martin City Police say.

The coroner has been called to the area of state Route 80 near the Garrett exit.

Police say the accident involved one person and one vehicle.
