UPDATE: Name of woman killed in Floyd County crash released

UPDATE 5/24/18 @ 5:04 p.m.

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Floyd County.

Officials say Jessica G. Owens, 42, of Salyersville, was dead when they arrived.

The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.

It happened on the edge of the Wireman Shoals Bridge coming from KY-321 near the Bays Branch area.

This is near the Highlands Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the other vehicle, Elizabeth Lemaster, was trapped in her vehicle. After responders got her out she was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

Police say Lemaster was driving northbound when her vehicle left the lane, bounced off the guardrail into the southbound lane, and hit Owens' vehicle head-on.

Police have not ruled out filing charges in the case.

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Floyd County.

The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.

It happened on the beginning of the Wireman Shoals Bridge, coming from state Route 321 near the Bays Branch area.

State Route 321 is closed in both directions at this time.

This is near the Highlands Regional Medical Center.

The coroner is on scene.

Another person in the other vehicle was airlifted from the scene.
