UPDATE| Warrant issued for man wanted in connection to stabbing

Police have named a suspect in connection to a stabbing.

It happened around 7:40 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Frame Street.

Charleston Police say the suspect, Demarcus Brown, 33, from Charleston, got into a verbal altercation with the victim outside of a residence.

When police arrived, the victim had multiple stab wounds to his torso.

Police say Brown got a knife and stabbed the victim many times.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Charleston Police have issued a warrant for malicious wounding for Demarcus Brown.

One victim is being reported at a stabbing in Charleston.

According to a dispatcher with Metro, a man was stabbed at 7:37 a.m. Thursday on the 1400 block of Frame Street.

The dispatcher said no one is in custody.

Police are interviewing people about a possible suspect and for a time used police dogs to try and track a suspect, but were unsuccessful.

The extent of the injury isn't yet being released, but the victim is being treated at a hospital.
