LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky firefighters are responding to an aircraft down near Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.
Tiffany Hart from Blue Grass Airport confirmed it happened around 3:45 p.m. Hart said the Bonanza plane's engine failed forcing it to land in a field on Calumet Farm shortly after takeoff.
Lexington Fire Department's Major Jordan Saas said right now, they do not know the extent of the damage.
Police said on Twitter the two people on board appeared to suffer minor injuries. The airport spokesperson said those people were taken to the hospital to be checked out.
No flights were interrupted because of the situation.
