Police say a man tried to carjack people at gunpoint in a restaurant parking lot -- or at least, with part of a gun.

Randel Boggs, 19, of Louisa, is charged with 1st degree robbery. He is in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.

Just after 9 p.m. Sunday, the Louisa Police Department responded to a restaurant parking lot on KY-3 in Louisa. The 911 caller said a man was trying to rob people.

The victims said Boggs pointed what appeared to be a gun at them and demanded they hand over the keys to their vehicle.

Police found Boggs walking north of the restaurant. When officers approached him, they say Boggs pulled a shotgun barrel out of his pants. Police were able to arrest him.

Investigators say he was also wanted in West Virginia.
