UPDATE: Shooting claim goes unfounded at Charleston gas station

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ)- UPDATED 2/10/19 @ 1 p.m.
Charleston Police said a shooting claim on the city's West Side went unfounded Saturday night.

Officers say the received reports of a possible shooting just before 6 p.m. at the GoMart on Washington Street West.

When they arrived on scene, police said they found a man, who appeared to be extremely drunk, with a head injury, but it was not a bullet wound.

The man was transported as a precaution.

Police are investigating a shooting claim at a gas station on Charleston's West Side.

Officers say the received reports of a possible shooting just before 6 p.m. at the GoMart on Washington Street West.

Kanawha County dispatchers said one patient was transported.

It is unclear who if anybody fired shots at this time.
