UPDATE | Troopers identify man hit and killed by vehicle in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 10/11/19 @ 8:55 a.m.
A man has died after being hit by a vehicle in Wayne County.

A person was hit by a vehicle in the area of German Ridge Road on state Route 152 in Wayne County.

It happened about 6:15 p.m. Thursday on State Route 152 near German Ridge Road.

West Virginia State Police say Richard Hannon, 36, of Huntington, died at the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. The driver is cooperating and no charges have been filed.

State Route 152 is back open late Thursday night after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, Wayne County 911 dispatchers say.

The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. near German Ridge Road.

The extent of the victim's injuries is unknown at this time.
