Proposed bill would raise speed limit on certain W.Va. roads to 80 m.p.h
A bill introduced in the W.Va. Senate aims raise the speed limit on the interstate and four-lane highways.
Senate Bill 96 was introduced Wednesday by State Senators Robert Karnes and Mark Maynard.
The proposed bill would allow the state road commissioner to raise the speed limit on interstate highways and four-lane limited access highways to 80 miles per hour.
According to the legislation, the increased speed limit would not apply to portions of interstate highways and four-lane limited access highways that pass through the city limits of municipalities.
