Proposed indoor gun range moving ahead in Huntington
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Plans for an indoor gun range in West Huntington moved ahead during Monday's City Council meeting.
Members discussed three ordinances that will help make the range possible. Council members already gave a green light to one ordinance that permits the discharging of guns inside a licensed indoor shooting range.
"We accomplished the first step," said Bill Rosenberger, the councilman who represents the district where the gun range is proposed. "We got language in there that says you can discharge a firearm in an indoor shooting range, so that's done. Now we've got which is kind of a middle step, which is kind of the biggest hurdle because there's three of them, but all three are good steps to get us to where we want to go."
The range also has received backing from the Public Safety Committee and the Huntington Planning Commission.
