POMEROY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A fire has damaged one of Pomeroy's town landmarks.
The Wild Horse Cafe on Main Street, one of Meigs County's main sit-down restaurants, sustained severe structural damage after a fire Sunday morning.
Pomeroy, Rutland and Middleport fire departments responded to the fire just before 5 a.m., fire crews say they had the flames under control in under an hour.
According to Pomeroy Fire Chief Rick Blaettner, the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen. No one was injured and no one is believed to have been in the building at the time.
The Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office has been called to conduct an investigation.
The Wild Horse Cafe, which has been serving the area since 2003, has announced on their Facebook page that they "will be back, even stronger than before."
