UPDATE: Man dies from injuries in eastern Kanawha County shooting

UPDATE 10/11/17 @ 1:45 p.m.

A man involved in a triple shooting on Monday night in Marmet has died from his injuries.

Marmet Police confirm that Nathan Teel, 41 of Marmet, died on Wednesday.

The incident happened after 8 p.m. on Monday along Ohio Avenue. Deputies say two people were shot and a third person was found shot after first responders arrived.

Deputies say preliminary investigations show Tony Lyttle, 52, William Atkinson, 20, and Nathan Teel, 41, were all arguing about the right-of-way and parking around their homes.

Deputies say at some point a shotgun was fired at Teel and Teel shot a pistol at Lyttle and Atkinson. Investigators are still working to determine who shot first and what was said leading up to the shooting.

Teel shot both Lyttle and Atkinson, according to deputies. They say he then ran to another location in the yard and shot himself in the head.

All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.

As of Tuesday, Lyttle was in intensive care with several gunshot wounds. Atkinson had been treated and released.

The shooting is still under investigation.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Kanawha County Deputies have released the names of three men involved in a Monday night shooting in Marmet.

Marmet Police say Teel is in grave condition, Lyttle is in intensive care with several gunshot wounds and Atkinson has been treated and released from the hospital.

Three people were shot Monday night in a property dispute between neighbors, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.

Some of the injuries are believed to be life threatening, and investigators say there was more than one shooter.

It happened just after 8 p.m. along Ohio Avenue in the Marmet area.

A property dispute between neighbors escalated to the shooting, deputies say. The sheriff's department's crime scene unit remains on the scene late Monday night processing evidence.

Investigators believe they know who the shooters are.

ORIGINAL STORY

Two people were shot Monday night in the Marmet area of Kanawha County.

According to Metro 911 dispatchers, it was reported about 8:20 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Ohio Avenue.

The extent of the victims' injuries is unknown at this time.

A neighbor told our crew at the scene that he heard at least eight gunshots.

He said he called Metro 911 and discovered that the owner of the house and his nephew had been shot. The neighbor, who's a firefighter, helped pull the victims from the home.

There's no word on a suspect.
