UPDATE: Substitute teacher indicted on sex crimes against minors

A substitute teacher has been indicted by a grand jury on sexual charges against minors.
Gregory Smith, 67, of Lucasville, is charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, attempted sexual battery, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor.
Sheriff Marty Donini says his office was notified in October by a local principal who had concerns that a substitute teacher was having inappropriate relations with a student.
Investigators say Smith sent naked photos of himself to a girl’s cell phone and asked her to do the same.
They also say Smith arranged a time for the girl to meet him at a public location so he could take her back to his home to have sexual relations.
Detectives say Smith, who subbed at different schools in Scioto County, used Snapchat to send the photos.
