UPDATE | Inmate caught after escape from Gallia County Jail

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 8/12/19 @ 2:03 p.m.
The third and final inmate who escaped from the Gallia County Jail Sunday evening has been caught.

Gallia County deputies say Richard Clements Jr. escaped Sunday from the Gallia County Jail and is on the run.

Sheriff Matt Champlin says Richard Clements Jr. was recently taken into custody in Circleville, Ohio -- a city about 25 miles south of Columbus.

Three inmates used force to overpower a guard and run off just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Two of those inmates were captured that same evening, but Clements Jr. remained on the run until early Monday afternoon.

An inmate is on the run after deputies say he and two other inmates escaped from the Gallia County Jail Sunday evening.

Sheriff Matt Champlin says just after 5:30, the three inmates used force to overpower a guard and were able to run off.

Two of the inmates were captured, but Champlin says one inmate, Richard Clements Jr., is still on the run.

Deputies say Clements is 6’02” tall, weighs approximately 215 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and orange jail pants.
