UPDATE | Troopers identify victim, suspect in deadly stabbing

ELKHORN CITY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 3/13/19 @ 10:08 a.m.
Investigators made an arrest in connection with a deadly stabbing in Pike County, Kentucky.

Michael Yates, 41, of Regina, Kentucky, is charged with murder.

Kentucky State Police also identified the victim as Charles Albert Ratliff, 74, of Elkhorn City.

Troopers say an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday in Frankfort.

KSP received the 911 call just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. It happened on Cox Farm Road off the Regina Belcher Highway.

Investigators say Ratliff was stabbed and pronounced dead by the Pike County Coroner's Office.

No other details, including a potential motive, have been released.

Yates is in the Pike County Detention Center without bond.

Troopers are investigating a deadly stabbing in Pike County, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police is investigating a stabbing on Cox Farm Road off the Regina Belcher Highway.

KSP received the 911 call just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. A man was stabbed and pronounced dead by the Pike County Coroner's Office.

No charges have been filed yet. However, troopers say they are questioning one person.

Names have not been released.
