UPDATE | Name released of driver who crashed into Cross Lanes home

CROSS LANES, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 4/18/19 @ 3:45 p.m.
The name of a man who crashed into a home Thursday morning in Cross Lanes has been released, Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say.

James Kennedy, 37, of Cross Lanes, may have fallen asleep, investigators say. He was taken to the hospital, but his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

Deputies say Kennedy was driving a Ford F-150 pickup. One person was in the home at the time but escaped uninjured.

The crash happened shortly after 8 a.m.

The homeowner, Charlie Davis, was in the home at the time of the incident but was not injured.

Davis says he was just watching TV when he heard the crash.

"It sounded like an earthquake and then silence, except for the horn blowing," Davis said.

Davis' home and the vehicle both have significant damage.

"It's hurt bad. My chimney's broke, my front porch is tore up. The floor inside the house is buckled. That's all I can tell now," Davis said.

A busy road is back open after a truck driver lost control and crashed into a house in Cross Lanes.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of Big Tyler Road.

A portion of a busy road in Cross Lanes is shut down after the driver of a truck lost control and hit a house.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday in the 4900 block of Big Tyler Road.

Emergency crews say the driver was headed down Big Tyler Road when he crossed the center line and crashed into the porch of the home. The impact of the crash caused damaged to the front of the house.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital.

One person was inside the home at the time of the crash, but was not hurt.

Crews are still on the scene of the crash.
