Three injured in explosion at Gallipolis plant

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Three people were injured in an explosion at a plant in Gallipolis, Ohio.
The explosion was reported at 12:54 p.m. at GKN Sinter Metals along Eastern Avenue.
Gallipolis Police Chief Jeff Boyer tells WSAZ three people were transferring material when the explosion happened.
He says the explosion happened outside of the plant.
Three people were taken to the hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The fire is out, but the Gallipolis Fire Department remains on scene.
WSAZ has a call into GKN. A statement has not been released from the company at this time.
No other information has been released.
