SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A woman was arrested, and a man is wanted in a theft ring that included a pickup truck stolen in West Virginia and recovered in Ohio, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Investigators say that truck, a white 2010 Toyota Tacoma with fictitious plates, was used to commit further thefts in the Minford and Lucasville areas.
Cherie Parker, 46, of Minford, is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, one count of receiving stolen property, obstructing justice and a probation violation. She was taken to the Scioto County Jail where she’s being held without bond.
Larry E. Thacker, 45, of Minford, is wanted. Deputies say he ran out of a home during Parker’s arrest in the 1000 block of Richard Road. He has active warrants for his arrest.
Investigators say the stolen items include a 2016 Can Am commander side by side, a 2006 Honda Foreman, various tools, clothing, camping items and a generator along with other items taken from a home along Glades Road.
The stolen Toyota truck, which was also recovered, had the vehicle ID number (VIN) covered from inside to prevent anyone from seeing it was stolen. Investigators obtained a search warrant at the mobile home and found the stolen belongings.
More charges will be presented to a grand jury. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Kirk Jackson at 740-351-1093. All calls will remain anonymous.
