UPDATE: Teacher dies in Mingo County crash

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- UPDATE 2/19/19 @ 4 p.m.
More information has been released about a deadly crash on Monday that killed a woman who investigators say taught at Kermit K-8 School.

West Virginia State Police have identified the victim as Ashley Ferguson, 27, of Dingess, West Virginia. Troopers say Ferguson was a first-grade teacher.

The two-vehicle crash happened around 4 p.m. Monday on U.S. 119 in Lenore. Troopers say Ferguson had just left an in-service training day at Mingo Central High School prior to the crash.

A man in the other car involved was taken to a hospital in Pikeville, Kentucky, with non-life-threatening injuries.

A woman died Monday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 119 in Lenore, West Virginia State Police say.

Troopers say the 27-year-old victim died in a T-bone type crash. That accident happened around 4 p.m.

A man who was driving the other car was taken to the hospital in Pikeville, Kentucky, with non-life-threatening injuries.
