One woman was found dead in a fire at her rented home at Unit 2, Hemlock Court early Saturday morning.

Parkersburg Fire Chief Matthews says the fire was contained to the living room, where the body was found. Also found deceased were two cats. The resident and pets of Unit 1 got out safely.

Mathews says the cause of the fire was accidental, as an oxygen machine was found near evidence of smoking in the living room. Parkersburg Fire Department received the call at 4:03 a.m. and were on the scene within minutes.

The fire was put out ten minutes after arrival, and units left the scene at 9:30 a.m.
