All 5 Local FBS Teams Go Bowling!

All 5 local FBS football teams in our region get to go bowling to end the season with three of them heading to the Sunshine State. It all starts on December 19th when the Ohio Bobcats will be playing in the DXL Frisco Bowl. They'll be playing San Diego State at 8pm. Ohio has won 5 of their last 6 games while the Aztecs are limping into the bowl season by dropping 4 of their last 5.
On the next day, it's Marshall's turn. The Herd will be playing in the Gasparilla bowl on Thursday December 20th with a kickoff at 8pm.
This game used to be played at Tropicana Field but the game site has certainly been upgraded as it's now at Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play. South Florida lost their last 5 games of the year while Marshall finished the regular season at 8-4.
The Mountaineers will also be playing in Florida just over a week later.
They will play the Syracuse Orange in the Camping World Bowl. It will be played on Friday December 28th in Orlando with kickoff at 5:15. The Mountaineers finished 8-3 on the year which was good for 3rd in the Big 12. Syracuse has a 9 and three record and finished the year strong by winning 5 of their last 6 games and that one loss was to 3rd ranked Notre Dame.
The last two teams play on New Years' Day. The Kentucky Wildcats will be playing in the Citrus Bowl for the first time ever and will face Penn State. These two teams haven't played each other since 1999.
Finally, the Ohio State Buckeyes are heading to familiar territory as they are going to the Rose Bowl against Pac 12 champ Washington.
