UNDATED (AP) -- The long NHL season is over and the champion is from Pittsburgh.

The Penguins beat the Sharks 3-1 to win the series in six games Sunday night in San Jose.

The victory gave Pittsburgh its fourth Stanley Cup title and second since 2009. It's also the second for team captain Sidney Crosby.

The Pens had quite a season as after an up and down start coach Mike Johnston was replaced by Mike Sullivan, who steadied the ship and led the Pens to the championship.
