UPDATE 12/8/15 @ 11:52 a.m.
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia State Police have released the name of a man who died in a crash Monday evening, where fog is believed to be a factor.
The crash happened about 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Jerry's Run Road and Route 2 in Apple Grove.
West Virginia State Police tell WSAZ Marvin Mayes, 61, of Gallipolis Ferry, was a passenger in a car and died in the crash.
The driver, a 50-year-old woman, was pulling onto Route 2 from Jerry's Run when her car was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
State Police say the woman was cited for failure to yield right of way.
No other injuries were reported.
Crews at the scene told WSAZ the fog was very thick at the time of the crash and the driver apparently did not see the oncoming vehicle when she pulled out.
