BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Two people are facing charges after an alleged theft scheme at Walmart in Barboursville.

West Virginia State Police arrested Crystal Lynn Browning, 34, of Barboursville, and Robert Brent Burd, 59, of Barboursville. They are both charged with fraudulent schemes, grand larceny, and conspiracy.

According to the criminal complaints, Browning, who was an employee at Walmart, admitted that since February, she had been ringing up merchandise, voiding some items, and then not ringing some items through the system.

While State Police were at the store, Burd was checking out at Browning's register.

Browning told troopers that she had gone through with the scheme on 23 transactions to Burd. The store lost $1,229.25 through the scheme.

Investigators say that Browning told them that Burd threatened her life if she did not do the scheme, and that he paid her time to time.
